About San Roque Club
Just 4 kilometres inland from Sotogrande is the exclusive San Roque Club, a golfing country club and gated community.
The community consists of 46, three and four bedroomed terraced, town houses surrounded by two golf courses and a hundred-year-old cork oak grove.
The San Roque Old Course is the pride of the club. It was designed in 1990 by Dave Thomas and its bunkers have been redesigned since by the legendary Seve Ballesteros.
Although primarily for members, this course is open to the public for a few hours every day. The 72 par course is one of the three top-ranked courses on the Costa de Sol.
The new course was designed by Perry Dye with the collaboration of Severiano Ballesteros in 2002. It was the scene of the 2006 Spanish Open, won by Niclas Fasth, and also hosted the final of the European tour’s selection rounds. Within the community is the recently opened Tango’s Bar and Grill. This restaurant is becoming renowned for its Argentinian grill served overlooking the pool and gardens area of the nearby Hotel San Roque.
